Art. 89 Requirements for measures concerning individual farms
1 Measures concerning individual farms are subsidised if the following requirements are met:a. (1) the farm must provide an existence in the longer term, if necessary with a second income from outside the agricultural sector, and require an appropriate and at least a normal amount of labour; b. the farm must be run on an efficient rational basis;c. (2) the farm must be able to provide proof of ecological performance under the terms of Article 70a paragraph 2 after the investment;d. (2) the funding and acceptability of the planned investment in view of future economic conditions must be guaranteed;e. the applicant must contribute his or her own funds and loans as far as possible;f. the applicant must have a suitable training.
2 The Federal Council may set the labour limit lower than that stated in paragraph 1, letter a:a. in order to ensure the farm is operative or to guarantee an adequate population density;b. in the case of measures aimed at diversifying activities within the agricultural or closely associated sectors.
