The Foreigners and Integration Act (AIG) is a Swiss law that regulates the entry, residence and integration of foreigners in Switzerland. It came into force in 2008 and replaced the former Aliens Act. The AIG defines the conditions under which foreigners are allowed to enter Switzerland, such as visa requirements, residence permits and work permits. In addition, the law regulates the rights and obligations of foreigners during their stay in Switzerland, including access to education, health care and social benefits. The AIG also contains provisions to promote the integration of foreigners into Swiss society, such as language courses and integration programs.
