Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP)

Introduction DSG

The Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) is a Swiss law that regulates the protection of personal data. It establishes the principles for the processing of data in order to protect the privacy and personal rights of individuals. The law regulates, among other things, how data may be collected, stored, processed and passed on. It also defines the rights of persons, such as the right to information about their stored data and the right to correction or deletion of incorrect or inadmissibly processed data. The GDPR applies to all public and private bodies that process personal data and provides for sanctions in the event of violations of data protection regulations.
