Art. 37 Loss by Official Decree
1 Swiss citizens shall on request be relieved of their Swiss citizenship if they are not resident in Switzerland and hold or have been assured of another nationality. Article 31 applies mutatis mutandis.
2 Relief of citizenship is granted by the authority in the canton of origin.
3 Loss of cantonal and communal citizenship and thus of Swiss citizenship take effect on service of the certificate of relief of citizenship.
